RECENT HIGHLIGHTS and INFO
2024 TSRA Texas State Outdoor Precision Pistol and Service Pistol Champion SFC Greg Markowski, USAMU
SFC Greg Markowski took both pistol championships this year, scoring 2635-120x for the 2700, and 958-30x in the Service Pistol Championship! Travis Jorgenson took second in the 2700 with an aggregate score of 2608-106x and SSGT Mate Standard (a native Texan) took third with an aggregate of 2589-79x. In the 1000 point Service Pistol Championship, Travis Jorgenson took second, with an aggregate of 954-29x and Mason Talbert took third with 935-28x. Congratulations to Greg and all the competitors! The competition was held between May 3-5, 2024, in Wichita Falls, Texas at the Northwest Texas Field and Stream Association's Don VanMeter Memorial Range. We hope to see everyone back next year at same location, May 9-11, 2025.
Team Matches
Team matches are a fun way to end the State Championship. This year we had three person teams, with each shooter taking a caliber (.22, CF or .45) during a National Match course and combining the three resulting scores. The Accuracy X / Ultradot team, consisting of Jeff Bromberger, Mason Talbert and Daniel Lee Miller winning with a combined score of 827-18x. Team TSRA Gold (Mark Nicholson, Odie Hitt and Raymond Coleman) took second with 808-14x. Team We're Just Girls (Charisma Owen, Melinda Lowery and Valerie Bernhardt) took third with a combined score of 785-9x. Team Army (Charlie "The Hammer" Norwood, Mate Standard, and Greg Markowski) took fourth with a 749-20x. And last but not least, Team NWTFS (Billy Stephens, John Petenbrink and Mark Gallagher) took fifth with a combined score of 683-7x.

- Southwest Louisiana Rifle and Pistol 5720 Old Camp Road, Bell City Louisiana - there is a match normally scheduled for 2nd Saturday of every month, starting at 0900, be there at least 30 min prior. - NRA Whittington Center 34025 U.S. 64 West Raton, NM 87740. The Dick Vivian New Mexico State Precision Pistol Outdoor 2700 Match (with all CMP EICs and NRA DR) is scheduled for Sept 2025. CMP EIC Matches
The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Excellence-In-Competiton (EIC) matches are competitons where civilian and military competitors can earn EIC points that count towards the awarding of Distinguished Badges through Distinguished Badge Programs administered by the CMP. EIC matches for Service Pistol, .22 Rimfire and Revolver are held during the annual State Match as well as during the Regional Match.
